FOR ORGANIZATIONS, TEAMS, AND CONFERENCES
Your team has spent five years on Zoom.
The people who joined since 2020 don't know each other except as faces in a grid. Water-cooler conversations left the building. Be honest, the team-building exercises you have tried have either been corporate ice-breakers, or earnest attempts at hard conversations that landed awkwardly.
You are not looking for fun. You are looking for actual coherence.
A structured experience, not an icebreaker.
Come Together is a ninety-minute structured experience. Part listening party, part conversation. Your team — from five to five hundred, in person or virtual — brings the songs that mark moments in their lives. We unpack them together. Not as a workshop. As a room.
The format is built on a single conviction: empathy precedes connection. Most teams know what they disagree about. Few have ever stopped to find out what they share. Music opens the door.
Four outcomes worth investing in.
Cognitive empathy
The practical ability to understand a colleague's reasoning - not just their conclusions. The single most underrated skill in a team is the ability to disagree well.
Shared reference points
Songs and stories that become durable touchstones long after the session ends. Six months later, two people in your team are still texting each other a lyric from the room.
Conversation muscles
Employees strengthen their ability to listen between siloes and across lines of difference without it feeling hostile.
Specific connection
Named, remembered moments between named people. This isn't team building in the abstract, it's personalization in the professional context.
Not only off-sites
The same ninety minutes works in a ballroom. Come Together has been hosted by conferences, association meetings, university programmes and congregations — rooms of thirty to several hundred, where the people in them do not necessarily agree with one another.
One session, briefly.
Keith James, the mayor of West Palm Beach, sat with Chad Sourbeer of the First Responders Children's Foundation. Chad's pick was "A Beautiful Day." He talked about his two sons, both of whom went into the work he has done for thirty years, and what the song had come to mean to him. Later in the conversation the two men got to e pluribus unum — out of many, one — and what it actually asks of people who are different from one another.
They listened to each other's stories and found common ground in the midst of the music.
No live performance, no expert panel, no policy debate. Non-partisan by design, and designed that way from the first session.
